Apologies to all you ketchup lovers but mustard is by far the superior condiment. It is the one condiment that I refuse to allow to run out in my kitchen. I love the salty, bitter tang of a good mustard. I love it so much that I am even learning to make my own mustard but we can leave that story for another time…
Honey Mustard is my salad dressing of choice. The problem is that I could never find a store bought version that I found truly enjoyable. They are always too sweet or have too much dijon or are uneccesarily creamy. The real key to a fantastic honey mustard dressing is finding the balance between the flavours.
So I did what any insanely determined woman would do and learned to make my own. I’ve gone through quite a few different recipes over the years but I have been making this version now for quite a few years and I will never go back to buying it from the store again! This recipe is simple, can be made quickly and makes little to no mess.
Start off by measuring your olive oil and pouring it into an 8oz mason jar. Now do the same with the remainder of the ingredients. I like to mix the ingredients together by sticking an immersion blender right into the jar but a fork will do too.
That is all there is to it! Wasn’t that easy? All you need is 5 minutes and you are ready to serve this on top of a fresh green salad.
In addition to being great on salads this also makes an amazing chicken marinade.
