All Natural Mint Sugar Scrub for Dry, Cracked Feet

One thing that I underestimated by far was how hard the homestead lifestyle would be on my feet. I’m walking outside much more and my poor feet are stuck inside socks and boots for most of the day. I do not remember what it was like to wake up without my feet begging to not touch the ground.

For that reason, it’s important that us hard working gals take some time to pamper our feet for they are just as hardworking as we are!

I’ve been making different natural, DIY exfoliating scrubs on and off for a while. But now that I’ve been growing more and more of my own herbs, I get to walk right out into the garden and pick extremely fresh products to create my own beauty products!

If you have ever made the error of planting mint right into your herb garden then you probably know that mint loves to grow and grow and until recently I was not fully aware of the benefits mint can have for your skin. It doesn’t just leave you with a fresh scent but it has very strong anti-inflammatory properties, it can help soothe dry skin and can even remove those dead skin cells.

I’ve also heard anti-aging rumours but I’ll leave that for a future experiment.

Making a sugar scrub is an uncomplicated process. All you’ll need is about a quarter cup of high quality coconut oil, I like to buy cosmetic grade coconut oil in bulk, a quarter cup of fresh mint leaves and a full cup of granulated sugar.

Add your coconut oil and mint leaves into a small saucepan and turn it on to low heat. Once your coconut oil has melted completely, remove from the heat and cover. Allow the leaves to steep in the coconut oil for 10 minutes and then strain them out. Once your coconut oil has cooled and is at room temperature, add it into a bowl with the sugar and combine with a plastic spatula.

You’ll want to store your sugar scrub in an airtight container until you are ready to use.

For even better results, soak your feet in warm water for about 5 minutes or so to soften up your skin.
